Tricker PR has been commissioned to deliver a PR campaign to support the launch of MoraySpeyside.

PR is very important to promote a destination and the team at Tricker PR are off with a flying start, which has already resulted in a few publications in local, regional and national Scottish press, travel/tourism websites, UK national and regional media.

Press Releases
Some examples of the press releases issued for immediate and future print are:

  • Fall for Autumn in Moray Speyside – promoting Autumn Gold style breaks in the destination
  • Discover the Spooky Spirits of Scotland in Moray Speyside – promoting Halloween Events in the area (Guardian)
  • To Be Or Not To Be – Shakespeare in Moray Speyside – focussing on the area’s Shakespeare connections,
  • Country House Hotels in Moray Speyside – issued to Business Inside following a request from them, to feature in their January issue, promoting retreats for executives and business people to relax.

Brand Launch
The brand launch PR campaign will be issued in the new year. The campaign will include a high quality photo shoot at a stunning location, featuring a quirky ‘Whisky Barrel to High Street Fashion’ theme.

Feature Articles
Feature articles will be issued with editors of the Scottish national papers such as The Scotsman, The Herald etc., Food and Drink publications and websites and national papers such as the Express and Mail job sections.

Some examples of the Feature articles are:

  • Profiling the people behind a local Business – this feature is aimed at highlighting a local business and how they have evolved within the MoraySpeyside community. A local chocolatier has been selected.
  • Zest Feature – to be published in January, promoting the MoraySpeyside nature and wildlife, involving a local nature based holiday company.
  • Recipe Features – work continues, in liaison with local chefs, to finalise recipe features to be circulated as a features package.

Press Trips
Work continues in organising press trips. The majority of publications are unable to set up trips until January, with coverage hopefully coming out as soon after the trips as possible.

Journalists have been specifically targeted to discuss press trip opportunities. There has been interest from:

  • The Sunday Sun – a regional newspaper covering Newcastle and surrounding areas, with a circulation of over 200,000, covering a key target area for the campaign.
  • Lancashire Telegraph, a regional newspaper a daily circulation of 27,481.
  • Manchester Evening News, with a circulation of over 165K and with direct flights available to Inverness.

Competitions
Two competitions, one print and one electronic, have been placed in target media:

  • North West Evening Mail – (Lake District area and Cumbria), with a circulation of over 16,000. We are due to secure a full page of coverage in the publication as a result of placing this competition.
  • Countryfile website – an online competition.
