New Moray College training courses open to West Moray businesses

WHO?

This course is open to all entry level staff in hospitality and tourism. There is no age limit and no entry requirement. It may suit those in kitchen Porter, Waiting or General Assistant roles, for example.

WHAT?

Introduction to the Hospitality Industry does exactly as you would expect. It teaches candidates about the fundamentals of the hospitality industry including Customer Service, Serving Food, Serving Drinks, Basic Food Preparation and Cooking and Food Hygiene.

WHY?

The hospitality and tourism industry is vitally important to Scotland’s economy and will become increasingly important to Moray and the Highlands in the future. It is essential that staff are given a sense of professionalism and confidence in the roles they perform, with a
clear sense of their purpose and future in the business.

WHERE?

This course is held at Moray College main campus over 2 days per week. Classes consist of:

1x half day kitchen theory
1x half day kitchen practical
1x half day industry/front of house theory
1x half day front of house practical

WHEN?

The Introduction to the Hospitality Industry course will run for 18 weeks from the 29th August 2011 – 27th January 2012.
